Supporting members’ health under the summer sun
Health & Wellbeing -Skin health is an important part of overall wellbeing, and it’s something many of us think about more during the summer months. Super funds can play a role in supporting members with simple, practical information that helps them take action – not just during summer, but all year round.
Around two in three Australians will experience some form of skin cancer before age 70. But the good news is that it’s one of the most easily detectable and preventable cancers, and most cases can be treated successfully when detected early.
Reminding members of the everyday steps they can take to look after their skin can make a real difference to their health.
Self-checking is key
It’s important to perform regular self-checks on your skin to monitor for any unusual changes or signs of skin cancer. The Skin Cancer College Australasia recommends the SCAN method for checking spots.
