Supporting the mental wellbeing of your members

Health & Wellbeing -

TAL is there to help Australians through some of life’s biggest challenges, which is why we want to go even further to support your members in these difficult times by providing access to targeted wellbeing support.

With impacts to our way of life, working arrangements, finances and even our health, it’s not surprising that Australians are feeling heightened stress and anxiety in response to COVID-19. A Monash University study1 tracking the mental health effects of COVID-19 has already shown a rise in anxiety and depression amongst Australians, and there are fears that other more severe mental health issues might develop later on.

Supporting early intervention and mental health through Headlight

While we’re all responding to the circumstances in our own way, early intervention can help prevent mental health issues from escalating2. Sometimes small actions can make a big difference.

TAL’s preventative mental health initiative, Headlight,  is designed to help members take control of their mental wellbeing. By answering some simple questions Headlight provides access to a range of evidence-based resources corresponding to an individual’s wellbeing score.

In response to COVID-19, we have introduced a number of new questions through Headlight, and for members identified as ‘high risk’ we have introduced a new, complimentary one-on-one counselling service with a qualified psychologist through Assure Programs, a leading Australian mental health organisation.

New content to support members’ wellbeing

In partnership with Assure Programs, we’ve also developed a range of wellbeing support resources to further support members’ emotional and mental wellbeing in this challenging time:
