The TAL Community Foundation partners with Orygen
Poor mental health is a major issue facing young people worldwide, contributing 45% of the overall burden of illness in those aged between 10 and 24 years, according to research published by the Lancet.
Our partnership will help Orygen deliver research, policy development, clinical innovations, and evidence-based training to ensure that there is continuous improvement in mental health care for young people.
Given the significant increase in mental health claims we have seen over the last ten years, it has become a major focus of our prevention and support services. It is also one of the three pillars of our Community Foundation, and an area where we intend to lead the industry by challenging and changing how we handle mental health as an employer and as a life insurer.
By bringing together two organisations that share a commitment to understanding and supporting the mental health of the Australian community, this partnership will help us achieve our goal of supporting the health and wellbeing of the people we protect – whether that’s physical, mental or financial health.
